Midrange performance at an entry level price! The IBM 1746A4D DS3524 has a 6Gbps host interface and can be configured with 2.5" SAS, 2.5" NLS, 2.5" SED and 2.5" SSD hard drives. IBM 1746A4D DS3524 storage systems can be configured in RAID levels 0, 1, 3, 5, 6 or 10. This storage system only takes up 2 rack units (2U) of space. The 1746A4D DS3524 ships with dual controllers. Add optional expansion units to support up to 192 drives. This system supports IBM fiber channel switches and directors, as well as IP switches.
